4 389 898, Electromagnetic Velocity Transducer A low power, reliable velocity transducer is particularly adapted to measure the flow of a liquid in a metallic pipe.
4 467 644, Flow Meter A flow meter for detecting and recording a plurality of data points representative of the depth and velocity of liquid flow in an open container.
5 363 842, Intelligent Inhaler Providing Feedback to Both Patient and Medical Professional The present invention detects how much air is inhaled through the inhaler with what time course as well as certain events such as the triggering of the release of the aerosol. This was the basic product patent for Airways Systems which got bought out before going public.
5 640 168, Ultra Wide-Band RADAR Antenna for concrete Penetration A pyramidal horn antenna that decreases ringing in RADAR systems that are placed against a solid volume of concrete or wood for finding an object in or behind the solid volume. This was used in a radar set the size of a blackboard eraser that imaged rebar in concrete.
5 905 455, Dual Transmitter Visual Display System This is the readout for the RADAR in the previous patent. The X direction was range and the Y is amplitude of the reflected signal. If the reflector is more dense than the media, the return blip is filled in. If the reflector is less dense, the blip is just outlined. Further, a split image system is used where the display is mirror imaged about the X axis. The relative displacement is a measure of the angle to the target.
Communication Systems
5 272 700, Spectrally Efficient Broadband Transmission System This was an Ethernet link over a cable TV type system contained in a building. It efficiently handled the collision and backoff problem on a carrier system.
5 347 304 and RE. 35 774, Remote Link Adapter for use in TV Broadcast Data Transmission System A hybrid transmission system is provided to transmit and receive high-speed digital information in the form of variable length packets using standard television practices and components. This patent launched Hybrid Networks which went public.
5 790 948 and 5 564 101, Method and Apparatus for Transmitter for Universal Garage Door Opener A universal remote control transmitter for use with garage door openers including a number of switches etc.
Communication Circuits
4 881 246, Method and Apparatus for Demodulating a Class of M-Ary Phase Shift Keyed (PSK) Signals A method and apparatus for demodulating M-ary PSK signals of the type wherein the modulation is limited to phase transitions between adjacent phase state, otherwise known as correlative PSK.
4 984 249, Method and Apparatus for Synchronizing Digital Data Symbols This was an all digital method of making a bit synchronizer that was not thrown off by noise.
5 084 903, Modulation and Demodulation System Employing AM-PSK and QPSK Communication System Using Digital Signals This was the basic product hardware patent for a telephone system that used packets over a cable TV system.
